Pulling off that peculiar indie-rock trick of sounding both weary and inspired at the same time, the seventh album from this Brooklyn-via-Georgia quintet transmits wizened poetry and rec-room intimacy with Music Row-worthy craft. Shannon McArdle does a fine Neko Case impersonation on "Catch a Collapsing Star," and though the band seems sure the world is going to hell in a handbasket, gorgeous slow-burners recognize that complicated love is better than no love at all.
