    The Mavericks

    These cowboy-hatted Floridians have done a fine job mixing pop country and roots rock for years now, and though they get a bit cheesy about it at times ("I'm Wondering" could have lit up your parents' prom), they're as catchy as Toby Keith, and without any backwoods nonsense to boot.
