You don't hear the part the Isleys played in the birth of hip-hop in these needless remixes. The beats and verse simply tacked on to the slow-groove classics here by ?uestlove and Mos Def, among others, will leave newcomers with the impression that the Isleys were Isaac Hayes imitators.
