The Hives, Sheryl Crow, Ja Rule and the Vines have been added to the list of performers for the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards on August 29th at New York's Radio City Music Hall. They join the previously announced performers Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Pink, Ashanti, Eminem, Nas, Shakira and P. Diddy.

The Hives' "Hate to Say I Told You So" from Veni Vidi Vicious is nominated for the MTV2 Award, as is Ja Rule's "Always On Time," which features Ashanti (Best Hip-Hop Video) and his "Who We Be" (Best Rap Video).

Brandy, Usher, Linkin Park and P.O.D. have also been added to the growing list of presenters that already includes Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Nelly, Avril Lavigne and Enrique Iglesias.

Saturday Night Live's Jimmy Fallon -- whose own album, The Bathroom Wall, is due August 27th -- will host.
