Australian pop-rockers the Go-Betweens are set to play a string of dates stateside -- their first with a full band since 1989 -- beginning in New York on June 10th. The trek will support the release of the band's latest album, Oceans Apart, due in stores May 3rd.

Originally formed in 1978 in Brisbane, the songwriting duo, co-frontmen and guitarists Robert Forster and Grant McLennan, released six Eighties pop-rock albums before their 1989 split. Oceans Apart is their third album since reuniting in 2000.

"I think that's what saved us," Forster said of their time off. "Just getting away from each other was important. It was liberating, and we came back fresh. We're still functioning human beings."

The Go-Betweens U.S. tour dates:

6/10: New York, Mercury Lounge
6/11: Brooklyn, NY, Southpaw
6/12: Carrboro, NC, Cat's Cradle
6/14: Chicago, Abbey Pub
6/16: Seattle, the Triple Door
6/17: San Francisco, Slim's
6/18: Los Angeles, Troubadour
