With "bright yellow bright Orange," quirky Eighties art-pop combo the Go-Betweens demonstrate that their exquisite 2000 comeback disc, The Friends of Rachel Worth, was no fluke. Main men Robert Forster's and Grant McLennan's distinctly different songwriting styles mesh brilliantly here, with Forster's wry wordplay, deceptively simple structures and arch vocals (e.g., his fetching ode to Princess Caroline, "Caroline and I") the perfect complement to McLennan's wistful melancholia and sweet croon (check out his mopey "Unfinished Business"). Though the two usually write separately, and each sings his own songs, Forster and McLennan make a rare duo appearance on the tantalizing collaboration "Too Much of One Thing." And that's not too much of one thing.
