In case the cover -- a leather-pants-clad ass that could have adorned a Joan Jett LP way back when -- didn't tip you off, the Donnas still jones for sweaty, Seventies-style hard rock on Bitchin', their seventh album. The four Bay Area ladies have done the same kind of thing better on albums like '02's Spend the Night and '99's The Donnas Get Skintight, but their straightforward approach and succinct tunes still make for freewheeling fun: Years of channeling their inner (and outer) bad girl have taught them how to juice a kiss-off like the catchy, sorta-disco shout-along “Better Off Dancing,” and they're at their nastiest on the hard-riffing, bare-bones “Give Me What I Want,” which seems to extort sex from an ex-boyfriend. Bitchin' offers little you haven't heard before -- even if you haven't heard a Donnas record -- but it should go well with a beer or six.

This is riff rock at its best. Sure the Donnas are heavily influenced by 70's & 80's rock, what's wrong with that. All comparisons aside these ladies give you what you want. Driving rhythms, infectious guitar, lyrics with attitude, making this disc simply addictive. Metal, Powerpop, Punk, it doesn't matter, the Donnas rock!

Wow, Bitchin Rocks! It's great to have a band out there still playing Real Rock, especially with all these alternative and disco bands out there.

Keep Rocking!

I was excited to see the new album and was aching to listen. I ripped open the wrapping of the jewel case put in my cd player and felt like I had just been ripped off. The music was rockin' and then the lyrics started and I thought someone had pressed slow motion. I was completely disappointed in the lack of enthusiasm throughout the cd. Don't get me wrong the music was awesome and I am not saying I want to hear lyrics that make me want to grab a dictionary but after listening to spend the night and eagerly awaiting the arrival of Bitchin' I was left feeling cheated.

The Donnas are still the greatest band on Earth - as long as The Stones aren't on tour...
Still, Tori's tits would have made a better cover...
PLEASE quote me on that....
