Dead Milkmen Release Greatest Hits

Posted Nov 14, 1997 12:00 AM

On Nov. 11 Restless Records released the first-ever greatest hits package dedicated to the decade-long career of the goofy Philadelphia quartet the Dead Milkmen.|

Titled Death Rides a Pale Cow, the album contains 20 of the cult band's most famous songs from their years at Restless as well as two previously unavailable tracks, "Milkmen Stomp" and "Labor Day." A companion video compilation is also available.

Formed during the early 1980s, the Dead Milkmen -- Rodney Anonymous (vocals), Joe Jack Talcum (guitar), Dave Blood (bass) and Dean Clean (drums) -- reached underground fame with their tastelessly humorous brand of college rock. The band released a total of nine full-length albums and several EPs before calling it quits in 1994. (Seth Hindin)
