Album Reviews

Dealers in fine used breaks, the Crystal brothers score low on originality, but they certainly know how to make cheaply pleasurable noise: Witness the vacuum-cleaner drone of "True Grit." Most of Legion of Boom is as accelerated as the trailer for a new action blockbuster: all adrenalinized tempos and high-impact beats. "Weapons of Mass Distortion" is as middle-of-the-road as techno gets -- think Grand Funk Railroad with more synths.
