Crowes Showcase New Tunes

Jagger, Moby among those at surprise Black Crowes gig

The Black Crowes took the stage on February 3rd in a former lower Manhattan club to showcase some new material from their upcoming album, Lions. The band took the stage just after midnight for a set that included a number of its better-known tunes along with some new material, including "Midnight From the Inside Out," "Lickin'," "Greasy Grass River" and "Young Man, Old Man."

Mick Jagger, Moby , Liv Tyler, Peter Frampton, Don Was (who produced Lions), Howard Stern and Goldie Hawn were among those in the audience, and Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones took a turn on stage during "Twice As Hard."

Lions, the Crowes' sixth studio album, is slated for release in mid-May.
