I was interested in this release because of Wolfmother but I also downloaded Cruelty Free and Jealousy Curve. I like both of these artists but cannot find much info. on them.

I had a rare chance to hear a pre-released version of this CD. After seeing episodes of the HBO series, I did remember hearing some very cool music behind the antics I viewed, but hearing this collection reminded me how that music was such a great part of that show.
Of course the CD starts out with Wolfmother's Dimension which played during the beginning of the show. But the best thing is that the quality and mood of the CD doesn't let up from there. From song to song you are reminded how much amazing talent is out there and I couldn't believe that 11 of the 12 songs are all unsigned artists. Plus, the CD has variety but unlike many compilations out there, it feels good from track to track without taking a turn south at any point.
Some of the bands I knew already like "The Black Angels" and "Nico Vega," but others I had never heard of.
A nice touch on the CD was some audio clips of some very funny moments for the show. It made me want to watch the shows again.
From what I heard, Dane Cook personally selected these bands and the guy should really be in the record business because his taste in tunes is outstanding.
I'm fully looking forward to this CD hitting the stores.
