On their very likable debut, longtime professional musicians Inara
George and Greg Kurstin turn out light, electronics-specked pop that
touches on the Beach Boys, Burt Bacharach and bossa nova. The tracks are
expertly constructed and often packed with ideas, and George offers twee
croons, tart lyrics and ace melodies on cuts like the lovely, lounge-y
"La La La" and the deceptively sweet-sounding "F*cking Boyfriend."
