The last album from these young punks blew up thanks in part to an over-the-top version of Don Henley's "The Boys of Summer." Welcome the Night eschews lame covers, but it does lay on the drama real thick: Though singer Kris Roe is a capable melodist, tracks like "The Cheyenne Line" are full of irksome passion, and several of the emo-esque songs are just dull.
