Tears For Fears Founder Smith Resurfaces

(NEW YORK) - Tears For Fears co-founder Curt Smith has resurfaced with a new band, Mayfield, and is planning his first U.S. release in eight years. The group's self-titled album, to be released this August on Smith's own Zerodisc Records, draws its name and inspiration from the melodies and incisive lyrics of R&B pioneer Curtis Mayfield. Says Smith, a man who once liked to shout, shout, let it all out, "All the songs just came out of the air. It's a great feeling when music evolves naturally."
