Album Reviews
The good news on this sprightly, sweaty compilation mixed by Afrocelts founder Simon Emmerson and U.K. music journalist Phil Meadley is that Ethnomixicology breaks from both the self-conscious chic and lounge tempos of the usual fusion of world music and electronica. The bad news is that the tunes the duo picks (and sometimes creates) are slight, and their banging rhythms are too repetitive for home listening.
