Expressin' The Blues, funded by the nonprofit Music Maker Relief Foundation, will share the stories and music of some of the South's finest -- but forgotten -- talent. The program is set to air on the A&E Television Network this spring.

Mahal, who has released over a dozen albums and written a clutch of film and television scores, has been recording since 1967. His latest set, Senor Blues, just received a Grammy for best contemporary blues album.
