Album Reviews
Like this one-man group's debut, Sequencer presents the wonders of modern technology as controlled by the single-minded Larry Fast. There's nothing emotional or even sensory here, and that makes the record difficult to appreciate.
Once again, Fast employs a variety of gizmosthe minimoog, digital sequencer and 20/20 frequency shifterto simulate symphonic and percussive sounds with faultless accuracy. The perfection achieved is as much a drawback as an assetFast seems to write songs like "S-Scape" and "Cybersports" or interpret a composition like "Classical Gas" because they lend themselves to technique rather than because they're appealing to hear.
