Those nutty squirrels have gold zippers! The hot new group, Squirrel Nut Zippers, while enjoying better sales than popular artists like Sheryl Crow and Jamiroquai, are about to be awarded with their first Gold album. The Recording Industry Association of America will soon announce the Gold certification of the band's sophomore release, Hot, on Mammoth, which charted higher than any independently distributed album ever, currently riding at No. 28 on the Billboard charts. Look for the Zippers June 4 on Late Show with David Letterman and on select dates on this summer's H.O.R.D.E. tour. (AB)
