After nearly three years battling Miller Brewing
Co., the Spin Doctors have won a law suit
against the beer brewing giant. A Los Angeles jury found Miller
liable for copyright infringement. Miller used a song in a
commercial that was deemed too similar to the band's hit, "Two
Princes." Initially, the group reportedly sought damages in the
area of $25 million, and now the band's lawyer said he will ask for
$11.5 million. Peter Malkin, one of the band's
managers at DAS Communications, confirmed that the
band had won but that he could not disclose a finite dollar amount
at this time. Malkin went on to say that the Spin Doctors have
found a new guitarist from Israel and that they are currently
looking for a new label since leaving Epic after
their last release, You've Got To Believe In Something.
