Posted Jul 31, 2001 12:00 AM

Presley Scott Harwell, the six-month-old infant son of Smash Mouth lead singer Steve Harwell, died July 28th from complications due to acute lymphatic leukemia. A foundation for Presley Scott has been set up in his memory. Donations can be sent to: The Presley Scott Research Foundation for Leukemia, 1525 Winchester Blvd., San Jose, CA 95128.

The band had been in the studio wrapping up work on its forthcoming self-titled record and playing one off tour dates all summer. Because of Harwell's son's death, shows in North Dakota, Montana and Idaho were canceled. Smash Mouth have not decided whether they will play a series of radio shows and town fairs scheduled for August and September.
