Album Reviews
What would summer be without a new Smash Mouth single? Smash Mouth are a party band and proud of it, so it's no surprise that Get the Picture? doesn't break from the hook-filled, beach-ready mold --
there's the reggae-filled first single ("You Are My Number One"), the usual Farfisa-driven surf rockers ("Hot," "Fun") and portly singer Steve Harwell's mushy musings on the world and its discontents ("Hang On"). Harwell may be the only rocker to sing worse than Ja Rule, but no matter -- his mates are experts in the art of the good-timey throwaway.
