The Iowa rockers recorded Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses) at Harry Houdini's former Los Angeles mansion with producer Rick Rubin, and it promises to be a bit more melodic than its ferocious predecessors.
"I learned a long time ago that you can be heavy without screaming your lungs out," singer Corey Taylor told Rolling Stone in October. "I'm definitely taking a different approach to not just the delivery of what I do, but the things I'm saying. It's time to start talking about things other than myself. The stuff I've been writing is very philosophical."
Other tracks targeted for the album include "Duality" -- for which the band will film a video in Des Moines in the coming weeks -- "Vermillion," "The Blister Exists" and "Circle."
Slipknot will head out on the road with Fear Factory and Chimaira on the Jagermeister Music Tour beginning March 30th, and the band will headline Ozzfest's second stage beginning July 10th.
