If you think Matisyahu is religious, check out Sizzla (whom the Hasidic toaster names as a major influence). A member of the ultrastrict Bobo Ashanti sect of Rastafarianism, the Jamaican dancehall vet pounds home themes of redemption, judgment and anti-gay bigotry. The MC boasts a broad vocal palette, from exuberant falsetto on the title track to the punishing flow that made him a star on tirades like "Judgment Tek Dem." Unfortunately, on Sizzla's boring, ugly rants backed by empty riddims, even his voice rings hollow.
