For The Kids  Hear it Now

RS: 3of 5 Stars

2002

A children's-music album that shouldn't make hipster parents puke, For the Kids benefits North American school music programs. Highlights include Cake's romp through the Latin kitsch classic "Mahna Mahna," Remy Zero's moody reading of the Art Garfunkel hit "Bright Eyes," Ivy's loungey take on the Carpenters' "Sing" and Sarah McLachlan's gorgeous, definitive rendition of "The Rainbow Connection" from The Muppet Movie."
