Simple Plan To Tour

Pop-punk band is hardly ever at home

Simple Plan will tour the U.S. in support of their second album, Still Not Getting Any..., beginning October 30th.

The Canadian pop-punkers -- who rarely take a break from the road, having toured with Avril Lavigne, Sum 41, Good Charlotte and as the headliners for the Vans Warped tour -- will begin in Denver, after they return home from a two-week European tour.

"When our first album [2002's now-multi-platinum No Pads, No Helmets . . . Just Balls] came out, we spent ten months with no radio play, no MTV, just touring," says drummer Chuck Comeau. "Doing it the old-school way, going to every city we could, opening up for bigger bands and having a half-hour to prove you don't suck -- then MTV started playing our videos and stuff. So that makes us feel like we're still the underdogs . . . like we still have something to prove."

"This business is always about struggle -- you're never done," says frontman Pierre Bouvier, who predicts the group will tour for a solid two years. "But there are going to be like seven singles on this record!"

"Yeah," agrees Comeau, "when our friend who runs the Web site heard the single ['Welcome to My Life'], he called us up and was like, 'Oh my God, I've got a job for the next five years!'"
