Posted Apr 21, 2004 12:00 AM

Sheryl Crow will inaugurate the new partnership between Sony Connect and United Airlines with an acoustic performance 30,000 feet above the ground on May 4th.

A few of Crow's fans will be on board for the United flight from Chicago to Los Angeles, where she will play a forty-minute set. Crow will perform again upon the flight's arrival at a party marking the launch of Sony's new digital Walkman.

Sony Connect, the company's digital music retail service, offers more than 500,000 songs for ninety-nine cents (albums run $9.95). The partnership with United allows travelers who are members of the airline's Mileage Plus club to redeem their miles for music at Connect.com. Some of the tracks from Crow's performance will be made available shortly after the performance through mileageplusmusic.com.
