New Lynne Song on Soundtrack

Shelby Lynne, Lucinda Williams contribute new songs to "Bridget Jones"

Shelby Lynne, Lucinda Williams and Geri Halliwell are among those supplying new music for the screen adaptation of the best-selling novel Bridget Jones's Diary.

The soundtrack to the film, which stars Renee Zellweger, Hugh Grant and Colin Firth, will be released on April 3rd and features previously unreleased material from Best New Artist Grammy winner, Lynne, who contributes two songs on the soundtrack, "Dreamsome" and "The Killing Kind". Lucinda Williams' song "Essence" and Robbie Williams' cover of Frank Sinatra's "Have You Met Miss Jones," both previously unreleased, also appear on the record. Former Spice Girl Halliwell offers a cover of the Weather Girls' disco classic "It's Raining Men."

Also guesting on the soundtrack are Tracy Bonham , Gabrielle, Texas and newcomer Rosey. The CD is enhanced with an excerpt from the sequel to Bridget Jones' Diary, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and interviews with Bridget Jones-author Helen Fielding.

The film opens nationwide on April 13th.
