Scarface Puts in "The Fix"

Rapper's seventh album due in August

Scarface, whose sound and style with the pioneering Geto Boys predated the suddenly chic Dirty South by nearly a decade, will release his seventh solo album, The Fix, on August 6th.

The album is Scarface's first for Def Jam, where he also serves as president for the label's Def Jam South imprint. His previous album, 2000's Last of a Dying Breed, ended a three-record run with Virgin. The role of label head has agreed with the rapper (a.k.a. Brad Jordan), as his first signee, Ludacris, has sold more than 2 million copies of each of his first two records.

As usual, Scarface has called upon a number of fans and friends to lend a hand. Labelmates Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel drop in on "Guess Who's Back," Faith Evans guests on "Someday," Kelly Price adds vocals to a pair of tracks, "What Can I Do?" and "Heaven" and Nas appears on "In Between Us."
