The album is Scarface's first for Def Jam, where he also serves as president for the label's Def Jam South imprint. His previous album, 2000's Last of a Dying Breed, ended a three-record run with Virgin. The role of label head has agreed with the rapper (a.k.a. Brad Jordan), as his first signee, Ludacris, has sold more than 2 million copies of each of his first two records.
As usual, Scarface has called upon a number of fans and friends to lend a hand. Labelmates Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel drop in on "Guess Who's Back," Faith Evans guests on "Someday," Kelly Price adds vocals to a pair of tracks, "What Can I Do?" and "Heaven" and Nas appears on "In Between Us."
