Houston hip-hop giant and geto Boys kingpin Scarface has recruited two new MCs -- Young Malice, out of Jackson, Mississippi, and Willie Hen, from the San Francisco Bay Area -- to form new group the Product. Eschewing the horror-core stylings of the Geto Boys, the sobering One Hunid presents a different dark side of street-level reality. On the Alchemist-produced "G Type," Young Malice calls selling crack to buy bling a form of "bliss blasphemy," and "In the Hood" features a string section impersonating swooping sirens as Willie Hen addresses fans who "see the cars, the clothes, the money, the ice/But they don't see the niggas running from the police lights." Horn stabs infuse "The Love of Money" with a rare bit of soul uplift, while Scarface's boss baritone kicks off the first single, "I'm A," with "advice to outta-towners/Just watch where you go." It's an often disturbing, but worthwhile, break from party 'n' bullshit hip-hop.
