Following the ongoing success of his Number One debuting solo album, ...Something to Be, Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas will launch a North American fall tour on October 5th in Albany, New York. These forty-three dates will be the first full-scale trek for Thomas, who performed a dozen sold-out club gigs in April in support of the album.

Thomas credits his Grammy-winning 1999 collaboration with Carlos Santana, "Smooth," with giving him the confidence to set out as a solo artist. "Carlos kind of fortified my belief that I'm a songwriter, and this is what I'm supposed to do," Thomas told Rolling Stone. "It just gave me the confidence to be able to say, 'OK, I can step off for the next couple years and just be on my own.'"

Tickets for Thomas' fall tour go on sale to the general public beginning August 20th, but will be available to fans online at VH1.com starting August 18th.
