Hagar and Roth Team Up

Former Van Halen singers planning a join tour

Posted Mar 21, 2002 12:00 AM

After years of being pitted against each other in Van Halen's endless rotating-singer saga, Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth are finally joining forces. The two are discussing heading out on the road this summer for a joint tour.

According to Hagar's official Web site, www.redrocker.com, the singers were "blown away at how well they got along together." Hagar added, "If this [tour] happens, this would have to be the party of a lifetime!"

Meanwhile, Hagar is keeping busy with his band, Planet Us, which also features Van Halen's Michael Anthony on bass and former Journey/Bad English members Neal Schon on guitar and Deen Castronovo on drums. The band has recorded two demos, "Vertigo" and "Peeping Through a Hole."

Amidst rumors that he is back in the Van Halen fold, Roth has finished David Lee Roth's No Holds Bar-B-Que, a video collection of Diamond Dave's covers of everybody from James Brown to the Chemical Brothers, and sent it out to media. There are no firm plans yet for its release.
