Album Reviews
Avril Lavigne's rendition of "O Holy Night" on this Canadian-dominated alt-rock-lite collection is so reminiscent of the Cartman version from South Park that listening with a full bladder is not recommended. Barenaked Ladies, Badly Drawn Boy and the Flaming Lips interrupt the other contributors' serious blandness with much-needed levity, while Rufus Wainwright proves he doesn't need studio polish to shine.
