Richie Sambora told JAMTV last week that he and his band were really looking forward to their upcoming appearance on "Late Show with David Letterman."| Referring to Letterman, Sambora said: "He's always respected me as a musician, which has been really cool."

When the much anticipated moment arrived this past Tuesday evening, Sambora and friends joined Paul Shaffer and the band on "Hard Times Come Easy," the first single off the Bon Jovi guitarist's second solo album on Mercury Records; he released Stranger in This Town in 1991.

After the song, a upbeat Letterman walked over and shook hands with Sambora, saying: "You don't need that other guy! You're great!" An obviously embarrassed Sambora could only shrug and grin. (Scott Hess)
