Reel Big Fish Making Fans Sing For Food

Posted Nov 15, 1997 12:00 AM

Just because they've gone gold, it doesn't mean that California's Reel Big Fish has forgotten about the less fortunate. On Wed. Nov. 26 -- the day before Thanksgiving -- the pop-ska group will headline a food drive concert in Irvine, Calif.|

Along with fellow SoCal acts Aquabats, Cherry Poppin' Daddies and Blink 182, Reel Big Fish will perform a special show at the Bren Center at Univerisity of California at Irvine, to which they have asked fans to bring canned food.

Each concertgoer who donates a can of food to 2nd Harvest Food Bank will receive a limited-edition TAZ silk-screened poster commemorating the show. In addition, each contributor will receive a raffle ticket that will offer a chance to win special Reel Big Fish prizes, including one day of personal servitude by an actual member of the band.

If you can't make it to the show, you can catch the 'Fish on the Nov. 17 installment of Monday Night Football, where they will sing the national anthem before the Miami Dolphins-Buffalo Bills game. (Seth Hindin)
