Before Rahzel even took the stage, the X-ecutioners' stunningperformance and gleaming row of turntables blinded the audience. The New York-based foursome advanced their mission of showing the world thatturntables are instruments, not just props. Merging profound hip-hopclassics with cutting-edge releases and occasional symphonic overtures, the X-ecutioners created a completely unique musical event, as they do each time they take the stage.
The show was part of the Grand Finale of the Digital Club
Festival, afour-day, 300-band online music extravaganza dedicated
to bringingcutting-edge interactive technology to music fans. While
audiences groovedto the X-ecutioners or gaped at Rahzel, they were
joined by Internet viewerswho commented to one another in real-time
chat rooms. The Digital ClubFestival also featured acts such as
Common, Everlast, the Metabolics, theMountain Brothers, Prince Paul
and Public Enemy. - Kristin Cleary
