The flava is in the title. Thanks Chuck D for not strayin from the original message. I agree that there are some musically bomb tracks here. As they have evolved as well, sure. Comin from a white boy rocker-> 4 stars because this band was around for the beginning of the hip hop evolution and so was I, and never sold out. This album is the heat amongst soulless peeps who sold dey souls to make their music available to the- public. And still...Fight the power. Listen.

As a long-time PE fan (yes, I'm older than I care to mention) I find I like this album as much, or even more, than some of their more sonically challenging early works. While in the past I was such a fan due to their cultural importance, with only some tracks really hitting me musically, I find this album really moves me musically. Since they maintain their hard-edged political and cultural lyrical stance, I find this work more pleasing overall than some earlier works. I realize they're not at the forefront of the rap/hip-hop scene any more, but that's the biggest injustice of all, since they still have bucketloads more to say lyrically than any of their proteges, and there's nothing on the latest Kanye West or 50 Cent album that out-creates the music on this disc.
