P.O.D. launch another "Satellite," Metallica invite a fan in the studio and more

P.O.D. will re-release their hit album, Satellite, with three new songs and a bonus DVD on August 27th . . . A Metallica fan made a $23,000 bid in an eBay auction to spend a day with the band in the studio; the group donated the proceeds to the T.J. Martell Foundation, which raises money for cancer and AIDS research . . . Wyclef Jean, Busta Rhymes, Run-D.M.C., Filter and others will appear at the 2002 Gravity Games, which run from July 31st through August 4th in Cleveland . . . Travis were forced to pull out of a headlining slot at the U.K.'s V2002 Festival due to drummer Neil Primrose's spinal injury . . . Bubba Sparxxx, Big Tymers, Trick Daddy, Petey Pablo and others will be included on the soundtrack to Undisputed, due August 20th . . .

Black Sabbath will release Past Lives, a two-CD live set from the late Seventies, on August 20th . . . Rufus Wainwright and the McGarrigle Sisters will perform at a benefit concert for Indiana's Fairmount High School, the alma mater of James Dean, on August 31st . . . Fans who pre-order Aimee Mann's Lost in Space at aimeemann.com will receive a bonus CD with two non-album tracks . . . The Kings Of Convenience will begin their first ever U.S. tour on August 7th in New York City . . . Kenny Chesney and Brooks and Dunn will be featured on DataPlay releases, which allow fans to add their own musical content to pre-existing music . . .
