Album Reviews
These big-in-England glam rockers have been moving gradually toward murkier electronic stuff, and their fifth album piles on near-emo levels of deep feelings over a plush bed of New Order synth beats and echoey atmospherics. The industrial gloom is overdone on bad-love songs like "Post Blue," but on catchier cuts such as "Space Monkey" and "Drag," Brian Molko's witty self-deprecation and heartfelt choruses make for stylized darkness with a power-pop spirit.
