Townshend's "Lifehouse" comes to DVD, Alanis previews new song and more

Pete Townshend will release a DVD/VHS of his February 25th and 26th, 2000 performances of Lifehouse at Sadler's Wells in London. Pete Townshend: Music From Lifehouse will feature sixteen songs from the unfinished rock opera Townshend first began work on in 1971, including the WHO classics, "Won't Get Fooled Again," "Baba O'Riley" and "Behind Blue Eyes." The DVD/VHS serves as a companion to the six CD-set Lifehouse Chronicles, which Townshend released via his Web site, www.eelpie.com, in 2000 . . . Alanis Morissette's new single, "Hands Clean," from her upcoming album Under Rug Swept, is available in streaming audio on German Web site www.jumpradio.de . . . Celine Dion's first studio album since 1997, A New Day Has Come, will be released on March 11th. The title track will be the first single and is due to radio at the end of January . . . Phil Ochs' final five albums will be compiled on The Best of Phil Ochs, set for release on A&M Records on January 29th.

Steely Dan have logged time in a New York studio writing and recording new songs for the follow-up to 2000's Two Against Nature . . . Australian pop star Kylie Minogue will release her new album, "Fever," in the U.S. on February 26th . . . Pennywise will kick off a U.S. tour with the Deviates and Boys Set Fire on January 16th in Columbus, Ohio . . . Goodie Mob vocalist Cee-Lo will release his solo debut, Cee-Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections, in April . . . Roy Orbison's widow, Barbara, has filed a $10 million dollar lawsuit against film production companies which she claims misrepresented her relationship with her husband and owe her money for her cooperation with two documentaries and an anthology of live performances by Orbison . . . Steve Earle's 1986 debut record, Guitar Town, will be reissued on January 29th with an additional track, Earle's cover of Bruce Springsteen's "State Trooper" and liner notes written by Earle . . . Former Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones will release The Thunderthief on February 5th.
