Peter Murphy Announces Acoustic Tour

Acoustic shows will feature new material from Peter Murphy

Posted Nov 01, 2000 12:00 AM

Though Peter Murphy toured this past spring to support a greatest hits package, Wild Birds: 1985-1995, he will revisit the past again this fall with a twenty-date jaunt. The tour kicks off Nov. 5 in Plainview, N.Y., and wraps up Dec. 1 in Los Angeles.

This time out, however, Murphy's career-summing sets will be acoustic, and will also include new material. There's no new album in the works, though one of the new songs, "Subhanallah," a bilingual tune sung in both English and Turkish, will be also shown in the film The Grid: A Dark Journey, which will be previewed prior to the concerts. The Grid, shot during Murphy's Bauhaus days, has never been shown before in America.
