Album Reviews
Peter Green has a place in rock history as the first guitarist and co-founder of Fleetwood Mac and architect of its early free-form rhythm-section attack. This anthology, which collects high points with the Mac and late-Seventies solo projects before he faded to battle drugs and other demons, argues that he was also one of the most galvanizing improvisers in rock, a master of sharp blues declarations and agitated chordal riffing. Loaded with wondrous little slivers of music neither exclusively blues nor rock, these two discs make the case that Green deserves more than a footnote.
