Members of Chumbawamba, Primal Scream, Cast, Dodgy, Space and Divine Comedy, as well as Tricky, Paul Weller and Finley Quaye, told the Independent, a major U.K. newspaper sponsoring the event, they will take part in the march, Chris Brown, a spokesman for the march, told JAMTV.
Though police quashed plans for an outdoor performance, the rally will still feature speeches by Labour MP Paul Flynn and Independent editor Rosie Boycott, as well as representatives of the U.S. activist groups Cures Not Wars and the Massachusetts Marijuana Reform Coalition.
The march will begin at noon (GMT) Saturday in Hyde Park and culminate in a mid-afternoon rally in Trafalgar Square. Attendees are also invited to a huge post-march party at the hip Cloud 9 club in Vauxhall, which will run until 8 a.m.
Organizers expect more than 30,000 participants in the march,
making the event Britain's biggest pro-legalization march in 30
years. (Seth Hindin)
