Well before she was Mrs. Springsteen, Scialfa was a singer-songwriter just out of college trying to make it in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood in the Seventies. Lullaby is a love letter to those days; even as she mourns the freedom she's lost on the bittersweet "You Can't Go Back," Scialfa connects to her past with well-wrought, down-to-earth tunes.
