One day we may look back, in wonder if not in anger, at the collective hallucination that heralded Oasis as the new Beatles; notwithstanding the soaring euphoria of songs like "Live Forever" and "Wonderwall." Given the backlash against lads rock that followed last year's underwhelming Be Here Now, we're certainly not ready for the leftover scraps that make up The Masterplan. Bored ballads about "how you saved my life," leaden rockers about it being "all too much for me to take": You want listless clichés, Noel Gallagher's got 'em. A quick dip into the cod-Bacharach bag for "Half the World Away" provides some respite from the crass soccer-terrace anthems, while the Slade-Stooges splice "Headshrinker" suggests that Oasis missed their true calling as pure glam-rock revivalists. Otherwise, it's all too little for this reviewer to take.

This has to be the worst review I have ever read. Did he actually listen to the album? Nearly all the Oasis B sides from the first two albums were as good, if not better than the A sides, which is why fans demanded this collection. If you hate oasis and can't stand this type of music, then why are you reviewing it? For anyone who likes rock n roll, please ignore this idiot and check reviews elsewhere, you will find it is generally considered a 4.5 star album containing many clasic tracks, some of which are also included in Oasis' best of album. Or just listen to the first 20 seconds of the first song to hear how good this is.

The guy who did the write up on this was probably sacked and so he should be. He's an idiot and didn't even listen to the album properly. The days of the masterplan are the highest quality for oasis and if this reveiwer wasn't told it was a bunch of b-sides then he would want it in his record collection.
