No song better captured the New York Dolls' glammed-out R&B than "Personality Crisis," the opening track on the group's debut album. Produced by Rundgren during an eight-day session, "Personality Crisis" was the trashy sound of an identity meltdown. Soon after, the Dolls fell victim to one themselves and dissolved amid a haze of drugs.
