Dave Mustiane and Megadeth have survived
several different musical trends over the past years. With the
release of their new studio album,
The World Needs a Hero,
their first since 1999's
Risk, the band continues their
mission. "I think the world needs a hero," says Mustaine of the
title. "Because there are no more rock stars, Axl [Rose] killed
that."
After splitting with Capitol Records, Megadeth took their new
album to metal-friendly Sanctuary Records. Hero, due out
May 15th, will include eleven tracks written solely by Mustaine and
one, "Promises," co-written by Mustaine and guitarist Al Pitrelli.
A world tour will follow the album.
