Maxwell gets road ready, Tommy Lee steps in for Alien Ant Farm and more

Maxwell has lined up an eleven-date tour to begin on July 24th in Philadelphia . . . Tommy Lee has joined the lineup for the July 27th Rolling Rock Town Fair in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, filling in for Alien Ant Farm, who were forced to cancel all summer appearances after a bus crash . . . Ray Charles, Femi Kuti and Susie Ibarra will perform at Detroit's tenth annual Concert of Colors, which runs from July 19th through the 21st . . . Papa Roach will give a free concert on top of a Los Angeles Best Buy today to celebrate the release of their new album, Lovehatetragedy. The performance is part of a four-city promotional tour . . . Sin City: The Very Best of the Flying Burrito Brothers will be released on July 16th. The twenty-five track compilation includes complete versions of the band's first two records . . .

Mission Of Burma have lined up three more Inexplicable 2002 Tour dates: July 24th in Seattle, July 26th in San Francisco and July 27th in Los Angeles . . . R.E.M.'s Mike Mills, Cracker and Marshall Crenshaw will perform at Jack McDowell's July 9th Shows for the Show AIDS benefit . . . Nine Days will release their second album, So Happily Unsatisfied, on September 17th . . . Pere Ubu have lined up an eight-date tour to begin on September 18th in Conway, Arkansas . . . Britney Spears' June 14th performance in Lubbock, Texas, was cut short due to a power failure . . . Elton John performed a benefit concert in Erfurt, Germany, on June 16th to raise money to help those affected by an April school shooting in the town . . . The rights to the Go-Go's story have been sold to ABC, which is planning a biopic. Shooting will begin later this year . . .
