Album Reviews
On paper, a concept album about the North vs. the South isn't likely to get anything but the most patriotic hearts pounding. But for regular Bjork collaborators Matmos, it's a flexible jumping-off point. Taking cues from old-timey American songs ("The Stars and Stripes Forever") and employing both period instruments and digital manipulations, Matmos amble and shuffle toward a new interpretation of history.
