Jason Hammel and Kori Gardner are a husband-and-wife team who operate like a bizarro White Stripes, working up sweetly aching harmonies on lean indie-pop tunes and fuzzy ballads. Plucky, precious and sometimes cloying, their fourth album unfolds like a fussed-over valentine. Highlight: the gorgeous ballad "Like U Crazy," which features Fifties-pop piano touches and an expansive chorus that could have come off the Grease soundtrack.
