Posted Nov 11, 1997 12:00 AM

(NEW YORK) - Hip-hopper Mase, a featured artist on previous No. 1 singles by his producer, Puff Daddy, has conquered both the Billboard 200 and the Top R&B Albums charts this week with Harlem World.|

Mase's first-week sum of 273,500 units is the largest total for any album since Bone Thugs-N-Harmony opened 13 weeks ago with 394,000 units. Also, Mase's impressive debut marks the ninth rap album to top The Billboard 200 in 1997 and makes him the third artist this year, behind Puff Daddy and Spice Girls, to have a debut album reach the No. 1 slot.
